Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Nori collects, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. Nori is built to support reflection, memory, voice conversations, accountability, and personal growth while respecting your privacy.

Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly to Nori, including your name, email, messages, reflections, check-ins, goals, memories, preferences, subscription status, and device and app usage data. If you connect calendar features, we may also process optional calendar-related data. We collect this information to operate the app, provide AI-powered features, and personalize your experience.
How we use information
We use your information to operate Nori, personalize your experience, remember context you choose to share, provide reflections and insights, support voice interactions, support goals, check-ins, reminders, and accountability features, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and improve the product. Nori does not sell your personal information.
AI Processing and Third-Party AI Providers
Nori uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized emotional support, reflections, check-ins, memory-aware responses, goal support, and other app features. When you use AI-powered features, Nori may process information you provide in the app, including messages, reflections, check-ins, goals, memories, preferences, emotional context, and related app activity. To generate AI responses, this information may be sent to our third-party AI provider, OpenAI, for processing. OpenAI receives this information only as needed to provide AI processing services for Nori. We use this information to generate personalized AI responses; provide emotional support and reflection features; remember context you choose to share; support goals, check-ins, reminders, and accountability features; and improve safety, reliability, and app functionality. Do not submit information you do not want processed by an AI service. Nori does not sell your personal information.
Third-party service providers
To provide Nori, we work with trusted third-party service providers who process information on our behalf. These may include OpenAI (AI response processing), Supabase (data storage and authentication), Firebase / Google (app infrastructure and analytics), Apple (app distribution and In-App Purchases), and RevenueCat or Apple In-App Purchases (subscription management). These providers receive only the information needed to perform their services for Nori.
Calendar and voice features
If you connect calendar or voice features, Nori may process calendar-related information or voice interaction data to provide reminders, daily briefings, accountability, and voice-based support. These features are used only to support your Nori experience.
Connected services and integrations
Nori offers optional integrations that you can connect to enrich your experience. Currently available integrations are: Apple Calendar (read-only); Google Calendar (read-only, via Google OAuth using the calendar.readonly scope); Apple Health (read-only via HealthKit, limited to Steps, Workouts, Active Energy, Sleep Duration, and Exercise Minutes where available); and Apple Music (read-only via MusicKit). All integrations require your explicit permission before Nori can access any data, and every integration is optional. You can disconnect any integration at any time from within Nori and delete the imported data that Nori has stored. Please note that disconnecting an integration within Nori may not automatically revoke the underlying permission granted at the Apple or Google system level; you can manage those permissions in your device or account settings. Nori accesses these services on a read-only basis and never modifies, writes, or deletes data in the connected provider. Data imported from Apple Health and Apple Music is kept separate from your Companion Profile and long-term memory, and is used only to provide the specific feature you enabled.
Getting to Know You
When you first begin using Nori, you may choose to share information about yourself — such as your name, preferences, goals, routines, and what matters to you. This onboarding information helps Nori understand how to support you from the start. You control what you share, and you can update or remove this information over time.
Companion Profile
Nori maintains a Companion Profile: an evolving, private understanding of your preferences, goals, communication style, and the context you have chosen to share. The Companion Profile is used only to personalize your experience and make support feel continuous. You can review, update, or delete information that shapes your Companion Profile. Data imported from read-only integrations such as Apple Health and Apple Music is kept separate from the Companion Profile.
What Nori Learned
Nori may surface a "What Nori Learned" view that reflects the insights and context it has gathered from your conversations and check-ins. This is designed to keep you informed and in control of the understanding Nori builds. You can see what Nori has learned and remove information you do not want retained.
Memory Trust Layer
Nori uses a Memory Trust Layer to handle your memories with care. This layer governs how memories are stored, prioritized, and used to personalize support, and is designed so that you remain in control of what Nori remembers. You can review and delete stored memories, and deleting a memory removes it from active personalization.
Connection Privacy
Information shared through connected services and integrations is treated with the same care as the rest of your data. Connected-service data is used only to provide the features you enabled, is never sold, and is not used to build advertising profiles. You remain in control of every connection and can disconnect and delete imported data at any time.
Subscriptions and payments
Nori Plus subscriptions and payments may be processed through Apple, Google, or another app store provider. Nori does not directly store your full payment card information.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Nori. When you delete your account, we remove personal data from active systems, though certain information may be retained temporarily when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or billing obligations.
Your choices
You can access, update, or delete your information from within the app where available. You may also contact us to request help with privacy questions, account deletion, or data access.
Not medical or crisis support
Nori is an AI companion for reflection, emotional support, and personal growth. Nori is not therapy, medical care, crisis support, or a replacement for professional help. If you are in danger or experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.
